Ian Morrish BA, FTCL, LRAM, ARCM (hons), LTCL
Ian was 21 and a member of the the Central Band of the RAF when he was given his first conducting experience with a West London Brass Band. At the end of his RAF service he was conducting the Southern Band of the RAF.
During his service with the RAF, Ian gained conducting and performance qualifications with the Royal Academy (LRAM) and the Royal College of Music (ARCM). He was awarded the Trinity College of Music teaching diploma and was elected a Fellow of Trinity College in 1969. He was also awarded the Worshipful Company of Musicians silver medal for 'Outstanding Student of the Year' after completing a B.A in music education and gaining qualified teacher status.
Ian was appointed Head of SW Surrey Arts, a position he held for 19 years.
